Laser Therapy
Laser Therapy is a health technique involving using low intensity laser devices with red or near infra red light to alleviate pain, treat inflammation, and increase tissue repair. Red or near infra red light is photochemical and not thermal. The energy or photons essentially is absorbed into the cells setting off a number of physiological reactions. Cell structure and function are restored. The immune system and the body’s healing capability are optimized.
Laser therapy is used in various health clinic settings such as dermatology centers, physiotherapist and massage treatment clinics, sports therapy clinics, and health clinics.
There are a variety of laser techniques including but not limited to:
-
Laser Genesis: stimulates collagen growth and treat fine line wrinkles
-
Laser hair removal: hair needs to have melanin in order for the laser to have a target, so that clients with naturally red or blond hair are not good candidates. Light is absorbed by the melanin into the hair follicle.
-
Laser vein therapy: for treating small and medium sized spider veins - client needs to be in good health with no circulatory problems
-
Limelight IPL: Intelligent Pulsed Light - treats redness in the skin such as rosacea, small veins in the face, sun damage
-
Low intensity laser: Light photons penetrate skin tissue to restore cell function - used for wound treatment, musculoskeletal injuries, degenerative conditions
-
K-laser: used in many physiotherapy clinics - reduces inflammation, swelling, pain
