The SSP is based upon Polyvagal Theory which was developed by Dr. Steven Porges. This protocol offers a way to re-regulate the autonomic nervous system through modified sound. Changes to behaviour can be achieved through listening to the playlists and learning to self regulate. People can experience reduced sensitivity to noise and light, improved mood stability, improved attention and learning capacity as well as stabilized gastrointestinal function and an improved ability to live with pain.
