Andrea Kober was born and spent her formative years in Montreal, Quebec, where she studied Social Studies and Fine Arts at Concordia University. Andrea began her lifelong journey toward self-awareness through spiritual growth at this time, which has led her on journeys to Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Middle East and Europe over the years. These experiences have strengthened her lifelong desire to support people’s pursuit of physical and emotional health and wellness, which she realized by studying and teaching nutrition and then crafting a career in bodywork. After suffering a car accident in 1999, Andrea had a personal epiphany while receiving many different modalities of bodywork; her interest in the health and wellness field was piqued. Since then, Andrea has studied Stress-relief Hypnosis, Jin Shin Do Acupressure, Reiki, Kripalu Bodywork, Hot Stone Therapy and Hakomi Bodycentered Psychotherapy, enabling her to combine mind/body techniques in order to incorporate a holistic approach to wellness. The result: Interlude Massage was born! Andrea is convinced that stress is a major factor in emotional and physical ill-health, and that healing requires a combined effort between both practitioner and client. Andrea is mindful listener and creates a safe space, allowing the client to maximize the effectiveness of each treatment. Because of her commitment to serve her clientele in each moment of their session, healing can take place on many different levels. She brings over 15 years of experience to the table, and the chair. She has happy clients that have been seeing her on a steady basis for over 10+ years now. While raising two children, Andrea became a vegan in her 30’s and her hobbies include piano, meditation, knitting, going to the gym, running and experimenting with vegan raw "cooking." Recently she has picked up the banjo but promises not to play during any of her massages.
