Meet Chris, a man of many interests that keep him busy. He loves to sing, play the piano, juggle, ride his bike, weight-train, practice tai chi, read, write, spend time at the beach, and do brain games.
Chris has been a registered physiotherapist since 2006 and has a broad array of experience working with people with orthopaedic and neurological conditions. He utilizes knowledge from the growing fields of neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to rewire throughout life based on experience) and pain science to optimize recovery. He is particularly interested in helping people rehabilitate from complex and/or long-standing pain/injuries, and strongly believes that in many cases a full recovery is possible.
Chris’ treatments are individually tailored, but they generally include: normalizing sensation in the area(s) of pain/dysfunction, movement re-training, specific guidance about how to safely increase exercise/activity level, mindfulness training, providing education, and using a variety of methods targeting the mind-body connection to alleviate pain (based on the principles of brain science).
