My name is Jen Craig-Evans and I am a Yoga Instructor and a Reiki Master Practitioner. I grew up very close to mental illness with my mother facing a long battle against depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Six years ago, she chose to end her life and this has left me with my own emotional scars. Yoga and other forms of energetic body work have been an integral part of my healing journey, and I have always been curious to learn more about what additional holistic practises and treatments could help people like my mom. After completing my yoga teacher training, I was looking for something to join the practise of yoga and the cultivation of mental wellness with healing trauma. I completed the Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma, Resilience and Emotional Well-being program in hopes of gaining this insight. The course deepened my understanding of how yoga can be used to help heal and I learned so much about how the body copes with and stores trauma. Yoga can help to move the emotional burdens we hold in our bodies. Exploring my own trauma has ignited my strong commitment to engaging empathetically with others. I will work with you to provide therapeutic yoga for trauma, resilience and emotional well being. My additional offering to you is Reiki which can be administered as a stand alone treatment or incorporated into a yoga session.
