Kristin Richards, RMT graduated from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2005. Upon completing her registration she worked in New Zealand for a year before returning to BC and began practicing massage therapy at Broadway Wellness and Pomegranate Midwives in Vancouver, from her home in Nakusp, and now mobile in beautiful Victoria, BC. In 2007 Kristin trained as a birth doula which ignited her passion for working with both pre and post natal women and families. Her continuing education courses have included Myofascial Release, Pelvic Alignment, Craniosacral Therapy, Birth & Postpartum Massage, Infant massage, Breast massage and Neurodynamics for Pelvic Health. Kristin deeply believes, with the proper support, our bodies have the inate ability to heal. She gently encourages you to be curious of what your body is trying to tell you and how you can be an active participant in your healing journey. She compassionately approaches each person differently but one thing remains is her desire to discover where your discomforts are rooted. With the birth of her son in 2011 and her daughter in 2014 it gave her a great appreciation for massage therapy as necessary self care during and especially after pregnancy. As a mother of two, she also sees the need for parents with children to have quiet, reflective time on a massage table. When Kristin isn't with her treatment table, she's cycling with her family around the city, gardening in her yard, or experimenting with a new Smitten Kitchen recipe.
