Dr. Mike Newberry discovered the healing and prolonged health benefits of chiropractic care very early in life. As an asthmatic 2-year old he was admitted to hospital many times and was eventually introduced to Dr. A. Berti in Vancouver after his persistent mother, an RN, started looking for alternative treatments for her son who was not getting any better. With his asthma under control and his young life resuming the normalcy of a healthy child, Dr. Newberry found his life’s calling.
Dr. Newberry studied pre-med science courses at Camosun and UVic and completed his studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic School in Toronto. During the four year study at CMCC, Dr. Newberry’s training included embryology, histology, neuroscience, neuroanatomy, pathology, with major emphasis on human anatomy, physiology, chiropractic adjusting technique, X-ray diagnosis and patient care in the H.K. Lee and satellite outpatient clinics.
While undertaking his Chiropractic studies, Dr. Newberry worked part time in the emergency department as a nurse’s aide at the Sunnybrook Science Center teaching hospital, the regional trauma center for southwestern Ontario.
Through his extensive education and participation in seminars on emerging healing techniques, Dr. Newberry has developed a strong interest in the prevention and treatment of chronic nerve system disorders.
