Music Therapy is a non-verbal therapeutic modality using music and its elements (rhythm, pitch, dynamics, tone, melody and harmony) to support clients while they work towards their clinical goals. Nejama Ferstman is an accredited Music Therapist certified by the Canadian Association for Music Therapy, which is the governing and regulatory body for the Music Therapy profession in Canada. She works together with her clients toward positive outcomes using music and clinical skill acquired through years of practice and professional development.
In her therapy practice spanning neo – natal to the end of lfe, Nejama offers support to clients and their families during life transitions, rehabilitation and palliative care as well as for those with disabling conditions, mental health concerns, autism spectrum disorder, dementia and more. Enthusiastic about sharing a love of music, movement, and stories with seniors, young adults and children alike, Nejama uses meaningful musical interactions which engage the participant while supporting his/her progress towards clinical goals in the cognitive, social-affective, physical, and spiritual domains.
