Rachel is a graduate of the Hua Xia Acupuncture, Massage and Herb College of Manitoba and is registered with the College of Traditional Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia. Rachels certifications also include yoga and Thai Massage Therapy. She holds a PhD in Community Health Sciences from the College of Medicine, University of Manitoba, a Masters Degree in Family Sciences, Human Development and a Bachelor Degree with a major in Psychology, from the Universities of Manitoba and Winnipeg, respectively. Rachel has worked in the health field since 2001. She has travelled and worked in Indigenous communities around the world, studying traditional medicines and health promotion. Acupuncture as a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used for thousands of years to restore, balance, increase vitality, reduce pain, and for therapeutic use. Tiny, stainless steel needles are inserted into energy points, called acupoints to facilitate circulation of qi, blood and body fluids. Acupuncture can be an effective treatment for men, women and childrens health across the lifespan. Rachel incorporates holistic, healthy living advice and massage principles into her acupuncture practice. Therapies also may include: acupressure, electrical current stimulation, Gua Sha, cupping, moxibustion and herbal heat compress.
