I am a registered Art Therapist with 20 years experience helping individual children, adolescents, adults and families heal and grow through creative expression. Art has been a source of inspiration and healing for me throughout my life. I am committed to helping others explore how art and creative expression can help restore hope, heal the wounded psyche and help discover inner strengths. My approach is client centred and focuses on the unique creativity of each individual. Art therapy is an appealing and powerful way to facilitate change and move through challenges while opening to the possibility of more joy and ease in life.
I have a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy from George Washington University and undergraduate degree in Visual arts and Psychology. I have worked with children and adolescents with developmental and emotional challenges in a special education school setting and with adults in inpatient and outpatient, mental health settings. I have also taught art therapy to graduate students and provide supervision for creative arts therapists.
I also offer a form of expressive play therapy called sand tray therapy using miniature figures to create a unique world or story in the sand. I have additional training and experience in mandalas, mindfulness, healing from trauma, anxiety and depression, family issues, separation, adoption, multicultural issues as well as parenting support. Art therapy is especially helpful for children and adolescents who are not able to express their challenges easily through words, and for adults who want to go deeper than words.
