Joel Kroeker is a CVAP-certified Registered Clinical Counsellor, an accredited Music Therapist, a Jungian Analytic Training Candidate and the founding international workshop facilitator of Archetypal Music Psychotherapy (AMP). His counselling style offers a safe and supportive, individual, integrative approach to help his clients explore the underlying meaning of their concerns including anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, loss of meaning in life, issues around spirituality and addictions. Through a soulful depth approach they work together to offer the opportunity to safely move through a stuck place toward a greater sense of wholeness. Some of the tools available on this journey include dream work, music therapy, expressive arts, working with symbols, Jungian based depth work and contemporary approaches from the wider field of psychology including CBT and mindfulness-based approaches.
Joel also enjoys leading individual and group music therapy sessions in a broad context with people across the lifespan, including adult mental health, older adults in complex care, at-risk youth and children with developmental delays including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism spectrum conditions.
Joel has served on the board of the Vancouver Jung Society and is an international recording and touring artist on True North Records. He currently divides his time between his clinical practice in Victoria, pursuing post-graduate studies in Analytical Psychology at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich and lecturing at various universities across Brazil and North America.
